As I said in another thread now lost in cyberspace, Adelaide is about
8 hours' drive west of us here in Melbourne. That's at highway speeds,
too, mostly - 100km/hr (if you're staying legal).
I should add that my local(ish - only half an hour away) Ikea has recently
closed (I'm sure I mentioned this else-thread). Their claim is that it was
too small. What I've heard is that this store was profitable and the new
super-store in the inner suburbs was losing money, so they closed the
small [1], profitable

Damn! Did it again.
.... outer-suburbs store to try to force people to the huge, unprofitable
inner-suburbs store.
What I suspect actually happened was that those who would have
shopped at Ikea would have gone to the many other stores nearby
instead.

[1] That's relative, of course. In actual fact, it was *much* bigger than
a lot of the nearby furniture shops.
